Who defends the pass better? - Hulk01 - 01-01-2014

Big Ten team's passing in bowl games:
50% completions, 5.7 yards per attempt
Pac 10 teams:
66%, 7.95 ypa

MSU passing allowed this season:
47%, 5.1 ypa
Stanford:
62%, 6.2 ypa

I'd take team two. :)

I love stanford but we have a wayne lyons problem at CB and I've been saying it a while now.

We couldn't tell in this meeting between the two teams because Michigan State didn't have to defend that many passes.

Stanford threw 18 passes and Michigan State 36.

From your lips to Mark Dantonio's gameplan :(  Class_of_75 was sitting a few seats from me and remarking on how often Lyons was getting picked on.  Shoot, there was even a chance for an interception thrown his way that he flubbed.

It seems Lyons should be moved to FS or NB.  He's a big and physical guy who seems to struggle with his back toward the QB a bit.  That won't be a problem at FS in Stanford's defense.  On another note, a completely invisible game by Ed Reynolds against MSU.  Not seeing a worthy early entry there.

Fullmetal, good to see you at the game. It got comical at times as it seemed we were constantly yelling "Wayne Lyons".  >:(

Great to see you too!  About six seats on the other side of me was 76lsjumb...we had a statistical gathering of Cardboardites in row 57 near tunnel 5 :)

And I'd be the last person to hate on a player, but Lyons was picked on by MSU all game...even the dropped interception seemed to be a mocking taunt from MSU.
