Murphy is listed as a linebacker but projects much higher as a defensive end in the NFL. Murphy does not possess the optimum athleticism for an outside linebacker in a 3-4 defense and is a little undersized for an everyday starter at defensive end in the 4-3. At 6-foot-6 261 pounds, Murphy is a bit of a tweener, although that can be masked with his outstanding work ethic.
