Gaffney talks about Rose Bowl - estephan500 - 10-19-2013

-- Funny to see the after game quickie that ESPN had with gaffney... of course they're supposed to say that the only game that matters is the next game... Gaffney busts out with "obviously everything was on the line... Rose Bowl, Pac 12 Championship..."

-- Of course I was on my feet in fury on some of those predictable gaffney-up-the-middle calls. There was one 3rd and 6 in the 4th quarter... it seemed so clear that it was not going to go six yards.  But, I have to admit that the dividends pay off in the game when those unpredictably go for 9, 12, 20 yards strictly because the defense's line is exhausted...

-- Can someone tell me what melody the LSJUMB plays these days as that little mini-interlude tune that comes in the middle of All Right Now?

I hated that 3rd and 6 call as well.  Playing to not lose.

Speaking of after-game comments by Stanford players. Did you see this little talk with Jordan Richards? This guy is lucid, rapid, good natured. Like some excitable young humanities TA or something.

Just looked at the Shaw conference transcript. Referring to Jordan Richards, his quote: "He's athletic, he's smart. He's our other quarterback back there."

And here is the shaw conference transcript, which I found to be richer than usual (maybe that's just how you feel after a win) --
