Skov is a born leader.  He is in the highest echelon of charisma among young people I've ever seen.  When I was an impressionable young freshman, Cory Booker was the big man on campus.  Skov is more charismatic.  Of all the student-athletes that have come out of Stanford athletics, I'm predicting greater success for him post-athletics than everybody else.

I like Shayne even more after reading that article.

Are you saying he is the Chiney of football? :)

Not familiar enough with Miss Chiney to opine.  But I will say this, with his engineering background and natural leadership skills, Skov could be very successful in business.  He's gone through quite a bit of adversity and thrived.  He must have an incredible work ethic.  He also comes across as an independent thinker.  If I got to hire somebody from the football team, he would be my first choice.  Probably my first choice among all the players that have come through the football program since I've been associated with Stanford.  Andrew would be my 2nd choice.

That is high praise, considering how many superb scholar-athletes have passed through Stanford programs.  He certainly sounds like the real deal.

Regarding Chiney:

Quote:English Professor Michele Elam, who didn't know Ogwumike was an athlete until she went to a game and saw her in action, said, "There are some students - some people - who just lift up all those around them with their thoughtfulness, their smarts, their vibrant personality, and Chiney is one of them."  Elam thinks Ogwumike would be a natural for public office or the TV world. "She has gravitas, an ethical quality that people feel. She's a force for good. I adore her."

As for charisma, she was the force behind "Nerd City Kids"

If you look carefully, you will see she talked a number of the football players into participating.  Michael Thomas, "Kulabafi", Anthony Wilkerson, Ed Reynolds, Brown, Dudchock, etc.
