while watching Lane Kiffin interviewed about losing:

SC is just San Diego State.

I realize this is heresy, but I have followed Kiffin the last couple of weeks as the game approached. Â He has been thoughtful, respectful, and answered tough questions directly...haven\'t seen the punk behavior for which he is so infamous.

Actually, San Diego State is pretty good this year.

Two great passages in this article:
Quote:"There wasn\'t a whistle," Galippo said. "I was trying to bring him down. I saw he was in the grasp but he was still standing up and I knew every yard counted so I was trying to drive him back. At the end of the day it could have gone either way."
So, if there "wasn\'t a whistle", how "could it have gone either way"?!? I watched, and listened to, it on Tivo after I got home, and there was CLEARLY a whistle! Thanks, Galippo!
... and you gotta love reading this in the game summary posted to your opponent\'s website:
Quote:Shareece Wright scooped up the loose ball and had visions of making a long return before Luck flattened him with the kind of hit quarterbacks usually receive instead of hand out. Wright lost the ball after the jarring hit.
I would strongly recommend watching that replay a few times if you know someone who Tivo\'d the game (it\'s approx. 1:32 into the telecast). Luck rules!!!

From what I recall about the play,I believe  there would have been a penalty if the whistle hadn\'t blown....for the blow to the head.  It was a personal foul either way.

Hands to the face, targeting, etc. Â Not to say that Stanford couldn\'t have gotten another first down or kicked a longer field goal, but Galippo certainly didn\'t help his team out. Â Woohoo! Â (I\'m reminded of the USC song girl who started cheering after Texas had kicked an extra point in the \'06 Rose Bowl.)
