New Stanford alum achievement - yvonne - 07-21-2013
King of Belgium. He has an MA in Political Science from Stanford. He's from the House of Saxe Coburg and Gotha. I hope his father Albert II hasn't given his cousin any ideas.

No, the House of Windsor is really the House of Saxe-Coburg Gotha. George V changed it during World War I because it sounded too German.
Philippe is king because his father Albert abdicated. That's what I hope Albert II doesn't pass on to his cousin. It must be something in the Benelux water because Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands also abdicated this year. Getting back to the House of Windsor, as you may know from the move The King's Speech, the queen's father was also named Albert. He chose the name George, which was one of his names, on accession. I recently heard the rumor that Charles wants to take the name George, which is his fourth name, on his accession.

If it wasn't for the Opium Wars, I'd be an Anglophile. Great music, clothes, lit and TV. If only they weren't such a ruthless bunch, having invaded 90% of the countries in the world.
