Men's Soccer Committ Rockets into Stardom - soccershins - 07-02-2013
18 year old Jordan Morris is erupting onto the professional soccer scene AND even better...he's committed to Stanford next year! Jordan scored 27 goals in 28 game appearances in just his first season for the Seattle Sounders Development Academy team. In addition he has begun work with the US Youth National Teams and has only continued to improve. Jordan has lots of promise in becoming a star player and with more playing time at the top level I can only see him getting better.

Jordan Morris is very good -- low center of gravity, aggressive, good dribbler. Missed out on the US under 20 team for the World Cup. There's speculation that the Sounders were interested in signing him out of high school; seems Morris will spend at least one year in school.
A bit worried about his overall technical ability and tactical sense, but he's been scoring against the best under 18 players the country has to offer.

Will he be able to keep us from getting knocked out of the World Cup by Ghana? :-X

So how does his involvement with the Sounders affect his NCAA eligibility for Stanford?

Not at all. Sounders run academy teams -- which gives them first refusal rights at signing players out of high school/college. But since Morris is not yet being paid, he's still eligible.

Excellent :)Â I figured that was all sorted out already.
