Terrance Brown -

Does anyone know why he left school early? I know he graduated with his academic class, but as far as football goes, he was a decent, but not great player. Why not go back to school for one more quarter and play some football with what looks to be a great team? Would the coaches have told him to leave early?Â
It reminds me of the decision Thomas Keiser made...Keiser has a job with Carolina and is making money, but what did he have to lose by returning to school back then? And what would Brown have lost (other than a starting job on the field perhaps).

the coaches obviously told him not to leave early. My guess he was ready to move on and take a shot at the NFL. As for Keiser, the team had also switched to a 3-4 scheme and he is more of a 4-3 DE. Too small for 3-4 DE and not athletic enough for 3-4 OLB. And my guess is he was also ready to move on. It worked out pretty well for him too. Brown will be a long shot at making a roster though.

I'd be surprised if Brown didn't make a roster. He looked like an NFL talent to me.
Pro Day measurables were respectable, though I haven't seen a 40 time.
Cincinnati has reportedly picked him up.

It would seem Brown, having his degree, wants to get paid. If he makes an NFL team or practice squad, great. If he doesn't, he can try Canada, or get on with his post-football life ASAP. Besides, he could have had Wayne Lyons breathing down his neck and seen playing another year as a risk, in that he might not have played much.
