What is in Austin that would make it the fourth most important target?
Hawaii - Close range
Los Angeles - Biggest USA city near the Pacific Ocean, media center, etc.
Washington DC - Obvious enough
Austin - Huh?

Is Austin somehow more familiar to North Koreans than larger US cities and/or significant military bases?

Looks like someone in the North Korean government news organization released the big April 1st story one working day early.

As for Austin, maybe Kim's a Kal fan and still holds a grudge from the 2005 Rose Bowl.

I think Austin might be on the far edge of the supposed NK rocket range.  My facebook friend feed has been amused and flattered that son of son of Great Leader deemed us worthy of a rocket.  There have been a few people who are wondering what Kim Jong-Un has against breakfast tacos.  Some posit that the ire of the "Great Successor" was stoked after finding out that most of the good shows at SXSW were badge and wristband only.  In typical Austin fashion, we're setting a trend for being cool enough to nab a top-4 bullseye spot from the NK military...

The Taepodong-2 has been tested once, and it failed 35-40 seconds after launch.  I'm not holding my breath.

(yeah, yeah, i see what you did there.  not taking the bait for now :p)

Does Dennis Rodman have something against UT Austin?

Or maybe Lil Kim loves Johnny Football and wants to ensure Aggie dominance in the Longhorn State.
