Who knew that Zach Ertz has arms that are about an inch-and-a-half shorter than most of the other top TE prospects? I guess his tailor might have known.

this really doesn't matter that much since he's being drafted as a receiving TE and not a blocking TE. I'd love the Niners to take him at the end of the first round. After Crabtree they have no other decent WRs. I still can't believe they took AJ Jenkins in the first round last year. I don't think any other team had him with a first round grade. He couldn't even beat out an over the hill Randy Moss for playing time. Sorry for the rant...

Not to mention he can jump which also compensates for shorter arms. I'll bet the overall readout from the combine is very positive for Ertz. He is an athlete.Â

(I was pretty shocked at the AJ Jenkins selection too.)
The short arms wouldn't explain the case of the drops this last season, would it? (Not a full-blown case, but I remember some key drops...) In any case, Ertz will be more boon than bust.
