Heard via ppl at the game--the black unis were designed by Nike for the $c game, but Harbaugh decided to use them this week.  /shrug

We should get orange helmet covers so that Luck can see his receivers more quickly and accurately, but there\'s probably some NCAA uniform regulation about that :p

Maybe the black uniforms help maintain Luck\'s night vision... Or maybe it gives the players ninja powers. Don\'t really care as long as we play like this!

The injury to Whalen is worrying. Did anyone catch anything on the broadcast that hinted at the nature or the severity of the injury?

They called it an elbow injury--it happened as Whalen was being ankle-tackled, and falling forward, Whalen used his left hand to cushion his fall, but his elbow apparently bent awkwardly.  He was seen on the sidelines with his arm in a sling.  That\'s all I know.

Thanks. I think I saw Whalen on the sideline in street clothes in the second half but couldn\'t get a feel for how serious it may be. Hope it\'s not too bad.

I remember an announcer saying a hyperextended elbow, but I\'m not sure whether that was ever confirmed.

At the post game tailgate that I just got home from, the word was Whalen may have a broken arm.  Terrible if it\'s true.  

The game, however, was great.  I have never seen Stanford score a TD on its first eight possessions.  WOW!  And the first string defense definitely got it done.  The black jerseys did not look that great, but you can\'t argue with the results.  Great active vibe in the stadium with all of the enthusiastic frosh in the house.  Seeing SKov and Owusu in the game and having big impacts was great.  The team needs to take the next step and go win some tough games on the road.  ND will be a real challenge next week.

Don\'t know the key ingredients in the magic formula, therefore I am going to say I LOVE the Black Jerseys.  I LOVE the 8:15 kickoff time.  I LOVE the shrub-like tree.  I LOVE LSJUMB playing the anthem before the pre-game show.  

I do think it was a good call to wear the black jerseys during a likely win.  Could you imagine the grumbling if the team wore them against USC, and then lost?

The only thing that made me angry about last nights game was the awful uniforms.  I hope I never see them again.  During the kicker warm-ups it took me awhile before I realized Wake wasn\'t wearing white helmets and dark unis.  Our team name is a FREAKING COLOR!  WEAR THAT DAMN COLOR!
