Josh Nunes article - terry - 11-28-2012

Nice article about how Josh Nunes is handling the QB transition.

Josh is a class act in what could have been a painful and awkward situation.

Re: Josh Nunes article - KartyFan - 11-28-2012

It was a great moment to see Nunes giving Hogan a big hug at the end of the Oregon game.

The man won a lot of games and defeated SC ... he is standing AOK.

Re: Josh Nunes article - Cardinal96 - 11-28-2012

I have been a supporter of starting a different QB besides Nunes based on on-field performance.  But I have a lot of respect for Nunes and he is a class act.

Nunes beat SC so I'll always have a fond memory.

Re: Josh Nunes article - akCard - 11-28-2012

Great story and I have to admit that I don't know if I could be as gracious as Josh has been. I hate to say it but this line (in bold), though, most caught my eye in the entire story:

"
Stanford coach David Shaw believes Nunes can be to Hogan what Tavita Pritchard was to Luck.

Pritchard also led an upset against second-ranked USC in 2007, started all of 2008 and lost out to Luck heading into the 2009 season. His experience gave Luck a useful resource, and Pritchard is in his second season as a Stanford defensive assistant now.
"

WHAT?!?

I thought I spotted him on the sideline during the OSU game wearing a headset but I still didn't make the connection to him having some kind of coaching role ('cuz I'm quick like that......)

And in retrospect, in the future, Stanford fans can say "we beat you (USC) with our back-up QB playing against your Voldemort trophy front-running QB."  Always fun to twist the knife on USC fans whenever you can  :P

Re: Josh Nunes article - GoodGrief - 11-29-2012

I was on the sidelines after a big victory (either USC or cal), and everybody was of course fussing over Toby and Luck. I saw Tavita and told him, "This all started with you, Tavita." he smiled appreciatively and thanked me.

I told my best friend about it who paraphrased it as,"Thank you Tavita, for being the stepping-stone for Andrew Luck to walk on top of!"

My best friend is less sensitive but far funnier than me.

Pritchard's probably learning a ton from Derek Mason, an enviable position.
