First time two teams have played in consecutive weeks since . . . -
terry - 11-27-2012
This tidbit is from the L.A. Times:
It will be the first time since 1935 that two major-college teams will play each other in consecutive games in the same season, and the first time since 1919 that teams from the same conference will do so, according to the website footballgeography.com.
In 1935, Detroit defeated Villanova, 19-15, on Oct. 26, and then again, 13-7, on Nov. 2.
In the first two games of the 1919 season, Agricultural College of Colorado, now known as Colorado State, defeated Wyoming on Sept. 27 and Oct. 4 in Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference games.

Terry, thanks for this, I was wondering if it had ever happened before but hadn't found any good data on it.
A historic game this Friday! And it looks like history is on our side- in the two examples cited, the winner of the first game went on to win again.

I was also wondering that. it's odd and frankly I love it. the idea of players starting off the first quarter with a team and saying "there's that xyz look... got it... that big guy is slow" ... it's basically like a game with four halves, with some probably more profound adjustments made at halftime.

Wish we could carry over the score from the "first two halves."
