OK, now it is time to beat UCLA twice!!!
Thankfully UCLA played a very important and emotional game against SC.
Still all of the wonderful thoughts of beating Oregon will feel hollow if the team does not get it done the next two weeks.
UCLA faces an unbelievable dilemma next week, but I will be there with hopes of coming back in a few weeks.
This program is just so wonderful. This is an era of Stanford football that will be referenced by me for the rest of my life. For sure.
Thanks Coach Shaw!

I would GUESS UCLA would rather play Stanford two weeks in a row, and have the second game in Palo Alto, than have to go to Eugene. This is why it is dumb to have Stanford play California early in the season. Those two teams would never play each other in consecutive weeks if they play the last week of the regular season. The idea of playing UCLA two weeks in a row is just really dumb.

All this is true. We are so close to a Rose Bowl I can taste it. I really hope we come to play against UCLA. We are the better team and should win but they are very good.

UCLA looked very good today. Playing them will not be a gimme at all. Then again, I am eating a lot of crow for my pessimistic Oregon prediction. Still, playing them twice in a row worries me.
From UCLA's vantage, they can be very conservative in the first game, no? Why give anything away in that first game? In fact, if UCLA beats us next week it would mean Oregon would win the north, correct, and UCLA will trade playing us for playing Oregon in Eugene in the championship game. What is UCLA's incentive to beat us next week at all? It might be in their best interest to lose the first game.

Why? Because Oregon is SOOO much better than us? ::)

It is hard to tell kids to lose. It is probably very hard to tell them to lose their last home game. Also, if they beat Stanford, and play OK in the Pac-12 CG I suspect they get that BCS at-large.
So I think the staff will tell them to try hard. However, you have to wonder if the kids will keep trying if the first game is not going their way.

If UCLA beats us next week and Oregon loses to OSU, then UCLA hosts Stanford in the PAC-12 championship game. So there's that to play for.

I don't think Mora will do anything overtly to try to lose, but my guess is it wouldn't break his heart if he did and ended up playing Stanford rather than the Ducks in the Pac-12 title game.

They're stuck between a rock and a hard place, and really, UCLA has no option but to play hard in both games. Can you imagine the blowback if UCLA fans think that the team is mailing it in? Bookies in Vegas would be furious. It'd be unsportsmanlike at the very least.
