Wow. Just wow. Best game I have ever seen us play. Shaw what an amazing job.

I teared up a bit, too. Goddam do I love this team.Â
I'm quite fond of you Cardboarders, too. Thanks for all the quality reading material.

Oh My! What a script - redemption! That was really impressive. 8)

What a great result and redemption for Jordan W. on top of that. Terrible pass interference call at the end of regulation and the DE stifles OU again. Shame on the refs. 1-3 in turnovers, do I have that right? Unbelievable. Stanford scored not only a great victory but succeeded in throwing a monkey wrench into Oregon's frontrunning offensive scheme, whatever it is. Scored some respect, or at least appreciation, among ND and SEC fans too.

A dream ending for Jordan that just might help chase away the Fiesta Bowl nightmares. He looked so happy talking to Coach Shaw in the postgame hoopla. What a game!
Re: Jordan Williamson I love you!!!!!!!!!!!! - pincemob - 11-17-2012
Williamson is wearing a Fiesta Bowl hat in the post-game interview on ABC. The fact that he has a Fiesta Bowl hat is very interesting. Good for him. He probably just clawed back 10,000 hours of sleep the rest of his life. And gave a lot of fans a lifelong memory, including the ones who cursed him.Â

Epic game, one we may see on ESPN Classics down the road a few years. My only regret is that the overrated Notre Dame and the SEC will benefit from the Stanford W. K-state got exposed as the pretenders they are. Oregon is no pretender, Stanford D just stepped up, had a great game plan and the team collectively played their heart out.

Best Stanford defensive performance ever? It's certainly the best I've ever seen.
Re: Jordan Williamson I love you!!!!!!!!!!!! - pincemob - 11-17-2012
Did ya'll catch Shaw's comments re: Williamson in the postgame presser?Â
After Williamson missed the kick in the 4th quarter, Shaw said:
"I went up to him, put my arms around him, I looked him right in the eye. I said it's time to grow up. I don't want to talk any more about how talented you are. Make the kicks."
Shaw had another insightful comment.. said he learned from Gruden to not try to win games with play calling. Let your players make the plays. That explains a lot, honestly.Â

Without a doubt. I would argue it is one of Stanford's best games over. We beat the top team in the country on the road with a freshman RS QB with a negative two turnover margin. Unbelievable.

Can't think that way. That thinking will eat you up, son.
Re: Jordan Williamson I love you!!!!!!!!!!!! - needle - 11-17-2012
Obviously, we are all genuinely happy for Jordan.
I kind of doubt that Shaw's little talk really did much to help--but it certainly didn't hurt, now did it?
Jordan Williamson probably hasn't turned a corner in his career to suddenly become an All-America candidate next year, but he helped the team tonight in a game as tight as they come with the stakes as high as they get--and for that I am grateful, and he should be, too.

He learned this from Gruden after the Fiesta Bowl?

flawlessness is admiarable, but failure and redemption can be sweeter.Â

Right on Jordan Williamson. I posted against you earlier in the game, and now you won us the OT.
If someone has the postgame press conferences on video... (my god, the fiesta bowl hat is too much) ... let me know the link...
GO STANFORD

Jordan Williamson took a monkey off his back and kicked it through the uprights into oblivion. I am so happy for that young man.
