Stanford launched a quasi-decent career for someone. - Redrum - 11-17-2012
Bud.dy Te.evens earned his right to have his name spelled correctly at least once on this board. Dartmouth beat Princeton 35-21 to finish their season 6-4. That means Bu.ddy has put together a 3-season record of 17-13 in the three years. Best record since Buddy Teevens in 1990-91. This season they lost to Brown, Harvard, Penn and Sacred Heart. Probably not coincidentally, Penn, Harvard, Brown are 1,2,3, ahead of Dartmouth in the Ivy League. But at least Bu.ddy's teams are playing approximately up to reasonable expectations.
I generally feel that by this time, Stanford fans should just let Bu.ddy be. I can think of comments we could make about the number of winning seasons he'd need to make it back to be a .500 coach, but why bother? Interesting note from his Wikipedia entry: Buddy Teevens attended his
own firing announcement while becoming Stanford's
ex-coach.  Wonder if Tedford will do the same.

Since by all accounts Buddy seems like a pretty decent guy, I think we should all be happy for him that he's found a job he can succeed in.
Gotta ask you this, Redrum, if Alabama does succeed in their latest attempt to leave the Union, will their schools still be allowed to compete in the NCAA?
BTW, Lincoln is an excellent movie. If anyone hasn't seen it yet, I recommend that they do.

Stanford didn't launch Buddy T's career at Dartmouth. He coached there from 1987-1991.

Teevens' first stint with the Big Green, from 1987 to 1991, showed an upward trend.[2] Beginning with a 28 record, Dartmouth then had successive years of 55 and 721.[2] In 1990 and 1991, Dartmouth won the Ivy League championship.[2]
