Stanford #17/#17 -

Normally could give two horses patoots about the poll numbers, but isn't it a bit ridiculous that USC is #11 AP and #9 in Coaches (the one that counts for BCS) while we're 6/8 places back? Of course with ND at #7, if we take care of business next weekend you'd think we'd scoot on up. Still wish we weren't starting so far back though, since the Harris poll starts next week.
In perhaps more scientific terms, Sagarin's ratings, we're #10 in the ELO-CHESS that's used by the BCS, and we're #16 in the more accurate predictor rating. Those rankings are no longer relying on preseason ratings with this many games into the season.

Maybe it's a reflection of how bad UW is (/eyeroll).

I have no problem with Stanford at #17. Those that think Stanford is a top 10 team are the ones that get stunned by the team's performance. The Stanford team looks a feels like a top 20 team.
HOWEVER, I suspect that USC is not a top 10 team. USC plays in the weak, weak, weak South, so it is possible for them to skate through for a while. I just don't see them winning every game left on their schedule, and I definitely believe they will get thrashed by Oregon.
In the end, if both teams finish the regular season with one loss then they will play in the Pac-12 CG at Stanford. So no worries there. If both teams have two losses or both teams have three losses, then SC will generally be picked for the better bowl even if the relative rankings seem to favor Stanford. That's just the way the bowl business works.
In the end, Stanford beat SC...AGAIN.

Speaking of rankings, was anyone surprised to see Georgia lose? They were way overrated to begin with imho. And their 5-0 start to the season was filled with creampuffs.

...said every SEC team, ever.

Yeah, if anything 17 may be a little too high. No complaints on my end. I think we are a borderline top 25 team.

Yeah, Georgia's schedule has three non-creampuffs: South Carolina, Georgia Tech, and Florida. The hard games are pretty much backloaded though.
To be fair, WSU, UCLA, and kal are creampuffs by that eye-test standard. U$C is looking less and less intimidating as the season progresses, so others might not give us as much credit for that victory. Surely UW is merely a wildcard rather than being "good," so we get dinged for that. Stanford needs to play to their potential and knock 'em all out...and then there's Oregon.
