Cal president runs home like the university - Red_Banded_Hat - 08-29-2010
It seems the esteemed new president of UCB, Mark Yudof, managed to run up $700,000 in expenses in two years for his "rented mansion in the Oakland Hills." This is after opting not to live in the state-owned house because it needed repairs. He left the rented mansion in need of tens of thousands of dollars of repairs. The article did not state whether this was because he was partying like an Oregon football player or if he\'d ripped out walls to grow Oakland\'s finest crop...

PS. For additional schadenfreude, Yudof came to Kal from the chancellorship of the University of Texas, though it may turn out to be a work-release program...

Sounds like the housing arrangement a certain governor of Texas has right now while the Gov\'s Mansion is being renovated after some unknown punk threw incendiaries over the fence to set it ablaze. Â Huh.

This is the guy that is "in charge" of the entire U.C. system. Â Bangup job!

When students protested tuition hikes and program cuts last year, they pointed to excesses by administrators. It appears that they were correct.
If I were paying UC tuition, and it had gone up 33%, I\'d be seething. If I discovered that the president had squandered $700,000, I\'d be even more livid.

Couldn\'t agree more, darn it. Â If they raise the price of UC football tickets, why I\'ll...I\'ll...well, I won\'t do anything because I don\'t buy those tickets.
