You could make the case that Chung has been the best amateur in the country this summer. Â He won the Porter Cup and the Western Amateur and now has made the semi-finals of the US Amateur.

In the semifinals, he will play defending Amateur champ (and soon-to-be Cal freshman) Byeong-Hun An.

is in the finals. Â he beat incoming Cal FR An in the semis. Â An started off with 4 birdies and an eagle in his first 6 holes and lost.
Chung plays an OK State player -- Uihlein -- that he beat in NCAA match play earlier this year.
a Chung win would cap a phenomenal summer.

Congrats to David Chung. Â He is an impressive player and has had a great summer. Â Despite being at a considerable disadvantage to Peter Uihlein distance wise in the final, he kept fighting back from an early deficit until finally a last errant tee shot killed his chances. Â He and Ben An apparently had a heck of match in the semis...
