Latest commit finally out of the closet - Redrum - 08-25-2010
And at 6\'3" 295 lbs., he was getting claustrophobic in there.
That\'s right. Finally. A DT. Lance Callihan from Ville Platte, LA.
Callihan was one of the two covert commits mentioned a while ago, but apparently has outed himself to the local paper. Do not be alarmed by the photo, which looks guys in football suits doing interpretive dance for kids at a day care center.
Callihan is rated a 3-star, #80 at his position, by Scout. Offers are, ummm, so-so. But, hey! It\'s a DT guys!

Actually the lastest commit is Jordan Richards from Folsom. Â ;)
The OTHER commit is out of the closet, too - Redrum - 08-26-2010
Thanks, Bob. according to ESPN. Jordan Richards, a 5\'11", 185lb. WR/Safety from Folsom, CA committed. Richards is rated a 3-star who also had offers from Washington, Arizona and Iowa St.
Richards was the other of the two players who initially kept their commitments covert. It\'s not clear whether Richards is seen primarily as a WR or a DB by Stanford, but he fits the Stanford pattern of recruiting athletes who can play multiple positions.

Worth noting that ESPN loves him: they have him as a four-star and the #22 athlete.

It seems to me that Richards is a player who may be underrated by Scout and Rivals because he legitimately plays (judging by his stats) three different positions: RB, WR and DB. Â So he has very nice stats in all three areas, but not spectacular at any single position. Â A real potential gem when he finally settles on one (which could explain the love from ESPN)

I\'ve seen things like that happen in the past. Also, don\'t know if it happened in this is the case, but sometimes a prominent evaluator at Scout "downgrades" players that were considering UW when they choose someone else.
A bit more glitter for Jordan - Redrum - 08-26-2010
Also has offers from Kal, Oregon and Utah.

Impressive highlight film.
Reminds me a little of (dare I say it?) Darrin Nelson.
On really BIG thing to like about Jordan Richards, - Redrum - 08-27-2010
He\'s IN. Â As in Door#1. Â I believe he is our first admit of this class.
Found out about 2 weeks ago...
