Dallas Lloyd back from Chile, ready for The Farm - StannyBoy - 05-21-2012
Probably won't get in a game this season but I'm excited to see him play whenever that may be. Article is free on Rivals:

Quote:"I've getting online and just watching some of the plays and starting to pick up on the terminology a little bit, but it's hard when you don't have a coach with you to walk you through it, I've been doing all I can to put myself in the best position."

Just looked up this kid on youtube. Looks like a very exciting player.
Could also give one ulcers. Let's get him on the field ASAP.
Good for Drukarev. Very good sports journalism - Redrum - 05-22-2012
In case anyone cares, Drukarev was a writer for the Bootleg for a couple of years. He then got the opportunity to go the Rivals syndicate site even though that might cause some....ummm....tension w/ the the Bootleg people. Articles like this show he's got the right sports journalism instincts. Dallas Lloyd was one of the great questions hanging out there in Stanford recruiting, more so after QB Taysom Hill defected to BYU after finishing his LDS mission. Lloyd got more expectations loaded on him when neither of Luck's two backups-- Nottingham and Nunes-- entranced us in brief outings.
Seemed like everyone who followed our recruiting considered "What's the deal w/ Dallas Lloyd?" one of the top ten questions of this year.  And now we know what the deal is.  Very good drive and instincts by Drukarev to get this story. The Rivals site started off strong when it entered the Stanford "market" but never has had a very active message board and seemed to be almost sleep walking through this past season. It will be interesting to see if they can be revitalized.

Rivals has better content and better scouts. Scout focuses too much on hiring hot girls out of college (which I like) but I'd rather have accurate rankings which is what Rivals gives you. If they can ever get an active message board going I'll def switch my subscription from Scout to Rivals.

Message boards aren't made. They are cultivated.
