SC offensive line - yvonne - 04-19-2012

Much hay has been made of the fact that we're losing Moose Martin and David De Castro, but not much attention has been paid to the fact that SC is also losing an excellent LT. This post from ESPN's the University of South Central blog says the Condoms are having a hard time with the exterior offensive line. Maybe Draco Malfoy will be scrambling for his life against good defensive lines the early part of the season.

I see a Chase Thomas blitzfest coming when SC comes to the Farm on Sept 15...

Much like Stanford is pinning its hopes on Peat and Murphy (both guys the Condoms wanted also), so too is USC on Zach Banner.  If he can't cut the mustard, USC's path to the Rose Bowl will be a lot bumpier than most people are expecting.

Who knows until you see it on the field, but my impression from recruiting types is that Banner's seen as the high-upside but raw player at tackle...whereas Peat and Murphy are more college-ready now. Anyway, Banner was put at RT in Kiffin's post-spring depth chart, which is curious as to my knowledge Banner has not stepped on the practice field as a member of Literature's Greatest Losers. (And may indicate problems with relying overmuch on Banner's abilities straightaway.)

Actually, Draco Malfoy and Literature's Greatest Losers were hand typed by the posters.
