Here it is, the First Day of the New Year as measured by the Harbaughian Calendar. The time of renewal and ritual forgetting of things like...well, like Big Game 2009. The first day of Fall Practice. Â You should be forming a dancing/chanting ring around Cardboardhenge, invoking the departed spirit of Gerhart to inhabit the body of Tyler Gaffney and wishing plagues of boils on Tedford and plagues running backs who move like toads on Kiffin.
But not a word of anticipation or speculation from y\'all. Sheesh. Well somebody\'s got to appease the Gods. Guess it\'s time for me to go eat the heart of a leprechaun. Tastes gawdawful. The things I do for Stanford football.

I was hoping to be inspired by the insights that were sure to be found in a camp-opening season preview piece in the SF Comical, but who was I kidding?!? Â Nothing beyond the "who will replace Toby?... nobody" drivel that you\'ve already seen a hundred times from writers who don\'t even have the option of actually visiting campus...

Redrum, when we eat the hearts of Notre Dame symbols in Texas, we use BBQ sauce. Â Doesn\'t matter what you put it on--it\'ll taste great if it\'s good sauce.
Yeah, I did see that Texas and ND will now have games later this decade. Â More beatdowns for the Fightin\' Irish ahead...

Well, we need some actual NEWS to comment on. There should be some later this week - if not we could always rehash the Pac 10 realignment schedule for the 10,000th time.
Or .. we could always discuss how to we like our leprechaun prepared. Lately it\'s tasted gawd-awful but then I\'ve always preferred the dish rotisserie roasted over a low fire turned by Stanford\'s defensive line with a spicy and high scoring Cardinal marinade sauce applied liberally and frequently by our running backs. It\'s especially nice served al fresco at THEIR place.
We haven\'t tried that exact recipe since 1992 although a trial last year at our place turned out promising.

Things almost got a little charred last year when our secondary started flagging, but Toby pulled the meat out of the coals just in time to let the cut self-cook perfectly.

Wow. Â That interview really should get kal fans fired up...about firing Tedford. Â What do you do when your coach speaks vaguely about focusing on ill-defined terms and refuses to focus on goals? Â But hey, it\'s fine with me if kal doesn\'t want to ever talk about going to the Rose Bowl. Â That\'s one more team out of the picture.
