To this day, whenever I think about that game, the phrase, "running into a buzz saw" comes to mind.

We had a great team, but Maryland just caught fire. Lonnie Baxter was a beast and Juan Dixon couldn\'t miss a 3-pointer.

Basketball is ALL about match-ups.   Different opponent, perhaps a different result.   However, my memory of that Stanford team is of a group that peaked early and were worn down late by high expectations coupled with suspect quickness and not enough scoring from the guards in big games.  Their dominant games were mostly January or earlier.
