The Pac-10 Does Times Square - Redrum - 08-01-2010

Well, the marketing guy,  Larry Scott put his imprint on the Pac-10 vis a vis the national media.   Took the road show to New York.  All the Pac-10 coaches together for an extended media tour.   Bonhomie and affectionate hijinks ensue, right?

Not while Harbaugh\'s around.

"I don\'t like them," Stanford coach Jim Harbaugh said. "They are not friends of mine. We\'re trying to beat them. Ah, we respect them. They are very likable guys. [But] we\'re basically trying to claw each other\'s eyes out to get a win."  Of course, he said it with a wide grin on his face.

Still,  the Marketing Guy seems to have good instincts on this part of running and promoting the Pac.  Interesting read.  Great national exposure on ESPN.

And, the coaches apparently can grasp the obvious:  Kal\'s visiting locker room at Memorial Stadium is-- unanimously-- the s**thole of the entire conference.

Funny:
Quote:Fact is, these are adults with more in common than not. Hard feelings between them (mostly) aren\'t personal but are based almost exclusively on the colors their teams wear. As the hours went by, more conversations were struck up. By the end, there was plenty of the proverbial ball-busting, which, of course, is how men show they like one another.

Notable:
Quote:Harbaugh spent most of his time -- understandably -- with wife, Sarah, who is pregnant with their second child.
