Graham Shuler has predictions: - washingtonismoney - 01-30-2012

"Don't be surprised when the dust settles on NSD and #Stanford has a top 10 or even a top 5 class."

Sounds good to me, Graham!

Re: Graham Shuler has predictions: - StannyBoy - 01-30-2012

this makes sense since it is sounding like Winston really is flipping from Florida State to the good guys. :)

It's always foolish to predict these things, but the internet is a hotbed for all types of silliness, so why not?

Murphy--Stanford
Shittu--Stanford
Winston--Stanford
Peat--Neb

Overly optimistic?  That might get us in the top 5

That is what I am hoping for as well.  I think there is zero chance that Murphy and Peat play for the same squad as they both want to play LT.  Shittu would be a brobdingnagian get for our DL and Winston would give us the number 1 QB recruit in the nation.

Re: Graham Shuler has predictions: - iyengar06 - 01-30-2012

Winston isn't going to be making a decision until Friday at the earliest, and even if we shock the recruiting world by flipping him from FSU, this one won't be over until the MLB Draft in June. Just a little perspective to keep our expectations realistic...

Re: Graham Shuler has predictions: - StannyBoy - 01-30-2012

we're also in play for Bradley, Hoffpauir (Cal), & Rector (UW). Bradley and Hoffpauir are both SS though so interesting if we take both. Bradley could end up at MLB though.

The part of Shuler's recent tweets to Alex Carter that I like is the following:

"@ARCarter2 ugh i should have played in it... WHY didnt you tell me? who all is there? @bigike94 @UnleashthaBeast who else?"

bigike94 = Ikenna Nwafor
UnleashthaBeast = Jameis Winston

Just thought it was interesting that he is tweeting with Carter but specifically mentions/asks about Ikenna and Jameis.  Interesting that he only mentions two others, especially since one of the others isn't a Stanford commit, no?  Incidentally, Carter also mentions that Noor is there.

Would be great if we ended with the above (Bradley and Hoffpauir would be great too). The way you list is better than losing Murphy to USC and getting Peat, since at least if Peat goes to Neb we won't see him running over our DL next several years.

Can hardly wait for Feb 1...

Re: Graham Shuler has predictions: - washingtonismoney - 01-30-2012

By the way, did we ever figure out which commitment Mike Sanford was referring to a while back?

(The day Josh Garnett recruited, Sanford tweeted "Coffee's for closers" in the morning and "Who's next?" in the evening, after Garnett's commitment. He then tweeted, "That was quick" soon afterward. My reading of this is that there's a commitment we haven't heard about, though what the hell do I know?)

Reading the tea leaves is tricky business. It's also a whole lot of fun.

Oops. Sorry for the duplicate posting Yvonne.

Re: Graham Shuler has predictions: - yvonne - 01-30-2012

No harm, no foul. Normally, I would have stitched the two threads together, but that one was difficult.

I don't know if there was ever an agreement on this, but I suspected it might be Luke Kaumatule who was admitted (or at least news of his admittance came) on the same day.  But it could be someone else we haven't heard of. As Don Rumsfeld once noted, that could be a case of an "unknown unknown," a thing we do not know we don't know.  (That will be the only time I ever quote Rummy, btw.)

Re: Graham Shuler has predictions: - washingtonismoney - 01-30-2012

Here's my guess: Hoffpauir. Garnett (and Sanford tweets) was the 26th; the news about Hoffpauir decommitting came out the 27th.
