Interesting info on recruit -
socalstanfan1 - 01-09-2012
just browsing twitter, and it looks like one of our more lightly rated (by the recruiting websites at least) recruits, Jontrey Tillman, has been offered by LSU, though he seems a hard cold lock for Stanford. Tweets about the superiority of Stanford's education, and how LSU thought he was too small until Stanford offered him, then they came around.
Maybe an indication of another great job of the coaching staff finding someone a bit under the radar, a la Ikenna Nwafor (and Ben Gardner, and Johnson Bademosi, and...)?
Here's a link to Tillman's twitter page

I saw that earlier, he sounds good (and smart). I read awhile back somewhere that he torched every team his school played so he's definitely no 2 star recruit anymore. I also read recently that he may move to CB.

Tillman's comment that LSU thought he was too small until Stanford offered him got me thinking of smaller guys with big impact in the NFL:
Smaller men in the NFL who have a big impact:
Darren Sproles: 5-6, 190
Ray Rice: 5-8, 212
Darrell Green: 5-9, 185
Darrin Nelson: 5-9, 184
Some of OUR players (and soon-to-be players)
Ricky Seale: 5-9, 200
Remound Wright: 5-9, 198
Jontrey Tillman: 5-7, 185 (before Stanford weight and conditioning program)
I'm sure you all can extend this list

Add Wes Welker (5'9") and Jacquizz Rodgers (5'6") to the list of NFL players, though Quizz isn't having much of an impact right now with the Falcons (and even less so now that the Falcons are done with the postseason).
