I notice the omission of any reference to John Donahoe, the AD. A good journalist would have taken these allegations to the powers that be for their review and comment.

It's published by the Review, not the Daily. I have real issues with the journalistic integrity of the Review, and I'm not sure why an article of this importance, if properly researched and written, wouldn't have been an appropriate topic for the Daily. That makes me think that the Review was chosen by an athlete for a purpose, which was to publish a hit piece (truthful or not) that wouldn't be researched or challenged.
The article has made waves in the rowing community online, and it's certainly a bad look. We are, however, only getting one side of the story here. And any attempt from the staff to debate the particulars of such accusations is surely a losing battle.
As with many articles of this nature, there are probably truths missing context being used to construct a narrative. I'd be interested in hearing a complete story from both coaches and athletes, but I don't think such a thing is really possible...

Agree that it's interesting that the Review published this and not the Daily, but they have several rowers on record with their claims. Hard to toss it aside as a hit piece when people are putting their names on it, in contrast to the WBB and MWP coaching scandals.

Let's just say that not every rower who was cited actually spoke directly to the Review.
