On the current roster are:
3 SR position players and 4 Sr pitchers
4 Draft eligible non Sr position players , 3 Draft eligible non Sr pitchers

Only one Stanford player was listed in the top 500 draft prospects
and that's Aidan Keenan at # 344. That's roughly 10th round

The portal opens June 1

The draft is mid July

I hear three in the portal but want to confirm.
Two grad transfers and one who didn’t play this past season

RE: Stanford Baseball 2026/2027 - Papa John - 06-03-2026

Teddy Tokheim is the player that I am most worried about. BobK (or anyone else), have you heard him commit to staying at Stanford for at least one more season?

RE: Stanford Baseball 2026/2027 - BobK - 06-06-2026

Day 6 of the portal and no more have entered.
Question now will Stanford sign any?

Hi Bob, are there any no doubt pitchers in the incoming class?

RE: Stanford Baseball 2026/2027 - BobK - 06-06-2026

Bryce Hill assuming he enrolls.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2026/2027 - Nobadeer - 06-07-2026

Meanwhile, Temo Becerra headed back to Omaha, with Univ. of Texas. UT beat the Dux in the super regional.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2026/2027 - Papa John - 06-08-2026

Matt Scott and Joey Volchko will be representing Georgia in the College World Series.

On a brighter note, congratulations to Freshman All-American Teddy Tokheim!

Stopped by the CWS this afternoon, and there's Joey Volchko pitching vs Texas. He struck out 3 in the 1st inning, and has fanned 9 so far through 4, including Temo Becerra twice. Announcer said that when JV joined the portal he went looking for a pitching coach, and landed with Georgia. What does this say?

I mean, the fact Stanford pitching has progressively worsened each year in recent years, and now that we’re officially hemorrhaging top-tier talent that basically wins the CWS for NIL/transfer-centric schools like Georgia (Volchko 8 innings, zero earned, 12 k’s and Matt Scott has been lights out all year), has to be a great indictment against Eager.  Here’s to hoping Esquey isn’t like Shaw in being too loyal to his long-standing internal coaching tree…

An all Stanford affair in that last strikeout. It was Temo Becerra at bat making the last out.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2026/2027 - BobK - 06-15-2026

New mock draft
Spangler at 20
Archer Horn at 48

RE: Stanford Baseball 2026/2027 - JJJ - 06-16-2026

Rintaro Sasaki will attend the MLB Draft Combine, June 23-26. Per Tweet/X

According to this Japanese article, he also already worked out with the Dodgers.

RE: Stanford Baseball 2026/2027 - Papa John - 06-16-2026

Of course, I hope Mr. Sasaki comes back to Stanford for (at least) one more season! Does anyone know the MLB rules and deadlines for draft entrance/withdrawal?

I was under the impression that as a 21yo sophomore, he didn’t need to enter/withdraw—just wait and see when/where he gets drafted. I believe he has until the end of July to say yes/no to Softbank.
