Nico Hoerner signs a 6-year, $141 million contract extension. So much for the hope that the Giants might get him as a free agent for next season.
Congrats to Nico and continued success in what, so far, has been a nice career.

Nico Hoerner has followed up signing a new contract with a nice start to the season. His slash line is .342/.420/.553. He has 3 HRs, 20 RBIs and 6 stolen bases. And no errors so far. Here are a couple clips from today's game.

Stowers, who missed the last month+ of his breakout All Star 2025 season with injuries, finally made his 2026 debut today. 2 for 3 with a double.

The Braves claimed Maverick Handley off waivers (optioned to AAA). Thankful he's out of Baltimore and with a legitimate franchise now. Hope he eventually finds his way onto the parent team.

Nice start for Tommy - a double in his first MLB at bat! Ends up going 2-4 with 2 doubles & 2 runs scored in a 9-1 win over the Rockies. Now he and Tim Tawa and the rest of the D-Backs are in San Francisco for a 3-game series. I expect that Tommy will have lots of family and friends in attendance.
