I still remember another recent tournament,
The Collegeinsider.com tournament.
There were 4 of them in the teens...
The Big Dance, NIT, CBI, and College Insider.

I think Stanford played in the CBI once upon a time? Or maybe it was one of the other neither-in-the-NCAA-nor-NIT tournaments.

Third-tier postseason tournament played since 2007. Stanford was in the 2009 CBI. Won the first two games over Boise State and Wichita State, lost to Oregon State in the semifinals. That was Stanford's only appearance.
The CBI will not be held this year. In the early years, they attracted a lot of teams from major conferences (see above). They haven't had a major conference team since 2019, thus have had poor ratings and insufficient sponsorship.

I was today years old when I learned that there's a postseason "tournament" named The College Basketball Crown.
