2026 Women's Volleyball Roster

Kaci Demaria is now entered as a redshirt freshman for next year.

Let me know if anything is incorrect or missing  ...

RE: 2026 Women’s Volleyball - paloalto - 12-17-2025

Thanks much for this pauloalto.  Having it on the first page is really convenient.  I will refer to it often during the year.  I didn't realize if Tusher stays on the roster (IMO she probably will) Stanford only has one opening in 2027/2028.

Can anyone tell me if Stanford qualifies for a DSA is 2026?

RE: 2026 Women’s Volleyball - BobK - 12-17-2025

If Stanford designed a DSA then yes It has to be the same person or persons
Kirsch may be graduating she will be a sr academically
Tusher may be back to beach in the fall

Didn't Kaci DEMARIA redshirt as a freshman this season? I never noticed her play.

I googled and she was the #4 overall recruit from the Class of 2025 per PrepVolleyball? Is this correct?

She definitely red-shirted.

Maybe slightly off-topic, but pro (in-door) volleyball is coming to the Bay Area in 2027:

Ownership group includes alumna Alix Klineman.  And Kelsey (Robinson) Cook, who is married to Brian Cook, another alum (and brother of Karissa Cook).

RE: 2026 Women’s Volleyball - M T - 12-18-2025

Now, that’s likely to lead to confusion. Two contributors to this thread are
Pauloalto (200 posts)
Paloalto (700 posts)

I had not noticed this before (my confusion, I guess)

People get to choose their handle

That said at a chalk talk in November Hambly really praised DeMaria

Hmmm....
So will it be BLYASHOV at OH1 with KURT and DEMARIA alternating at OH2?

That seems too high to me.  Actually #4 for the state of California seems too high.  Now that you bring it up I would be interested what her PrepVolleyball ranking was if someone subscribes to them.

#4 is too high - maybe an old ranking, or just AI being AI again. Her GoStanford profile indicates her PrepVolleyball ranking in the summer of 2022 was #8 - it also shows she was also  MaxPreps 2nd team All American in 2022.

RE: 2026 Women’s Volleyball - BobK - 12-18-2025

Demaria’s final prep volleyball ranking was 13
For the incoming Frosh
19 Hickman
24 Andrews
43 Roslon
49 Udoye

RE: 2026 Women’s Volleyball - pauloalto - 12-18-2025

I have updated the roster chart I posted earlier to reflect Kaci Demaria's freshman redshirt status next year.

I also noticed that Reese Dunkle had not been entered, so I added her as a redshirt freshman for next year. As things stand, this is too many for an 18 player roster limit.   FIXED

RE: 2026 Women’s Volleyball - BobK - 12-18-2025

Had to say this but Dunkle hasn’t been on the team since roughly early November and she’s now in the portal. She won’t be on the team in the future
We could have a DSA. Who or they would not count as part of the 18

RE: 2026 Women’s Volleyball - BobK - 01-07-2026

A friend notes that a Lilly Wagner is now at Stanford per the student directory

RE: 2026 Women’s Volleyball - paloalto - 01-07-2026

Wow, how did that happen so fast.  Times, they are a-changin'.   I heard the rumor about Wagner.  I had my doubts.  I never guessed she would start winter term.

If you are a WVB fan it's good news Stanford is taking a different approach to bringing in athletes.   If you're focused on the highest possible academic standards, maybe not so thrilled.

RE: 2026 Women’s Volleyball - BostonCard - 01-07-2026

I guess it depends on Wagner’s academic goals and accomplishments. Generally speaking, transfers are academically disruptive, and in most cases, it is better to stick to your existing course of study than switch midway, but “generally” and “most cases” is doing a lot of work there. There are some cases where an academic change could be positive.  Without knowing anything about Wagner, I don’t know that I would want to comment on her case specifically.

I would say it is probably better to transfer in the offseason and have two quarters to adjust.

Also, because I just looked, Maryland is on the semester system so switching now and doing winter and spring quarters gives her two quarters which is a bit more academic time than one semester and might help her catch up.

I don't see it as a compromise of the highest possible standards - I mean, who's able to argue that without actually having seeing a kid's transcript and application?  What early enrollments are to me is more along the lines of advancing away from the an (to me at least) concept of having all members of a class progress together through their time at Stanford in temporal lockstep. Why hinder any academically-qualified student from matriculating anytime other than the start of fall quarter? It's not like they're trying to take advantage of some witness-protection program, it just works better for them, and if an athlete, for the team and school in a lot of ways.

RE: 2026 Women’s Volleyball - paloalto - 01-07-2026

What am I missing in this timeline?  Maryland's last match November 28.  Transfer portal opens first week of December.  Hambly contacts Wagner/she thinks about it/forwards an application to Hambly in about a week at least. Admissions shutdown for the holidays started December 24.  That means most likely a decision was made by admissions in two weeks or less.

Stanford and all Ivy League schools are adamantly against rolling admissions.  They strongly believe all applicants should be viewed together because there are so many highly qualified applicants.  That philosophy is clearly crumbling.
