Weird season ticket renewal - Snorlax94 - 03-31-2025

I’ve been missing emails related to my season ticket subscription, so maybe that’s the issue, but on today’s Frank Reich announcement email, I notice  a link to renew tickets.

I click on it, go to the tickets website, see (another) new user experience to renew my tickets, then my parking.

No opportunity to switch seats, no notification, a strange workflow where I couldn’t figure out how to renew both the tickets and parking at once so I did it in two separate transactions. Plus just weird messaging on the website — saying I’d been approved to renew, even though i hadn’t requested it (although I planned to).

Anyway, i renewed. I’ve been a fan of Stanford football ever since my frosh year, through some tough years.

But for other STM’s on the cardboard — were there any other emails about  renewal? Any process for switching seats? Am I still missing emails?

I know many alums complain about “over-unsubscribing” to Stanford emails — you unsubscribe to one newsletter and suddenly you’re not getting the ones you want. Or, like me, you stop getting the ones you want but keep getting the ones you don’t want.

I worry Stanford is missing out on many opportunities — including lost football sales — due to its email, and broadly, digital marketing, woes.

The announced date for season tickets was 3/25. Obviously, that date came and went.
They had to tear up their marketing materials. I think the link on the Reich announcement is for people who can’t wait for the new marketing collateral.

Every. Single. Year. They change season ticket renewal procedures. I’ve given up renewing online and just call my Stanford concierge or email someone in the athletics office.

I received the same message as Snorlax94.

The subject line was "Welcome to The Farm, Coach Reich!".  It was only after reading the message that I noticed there was a section near the bottom that said Season Ticket Memberships, and a link labeled "Renew Today".  This is the first time I've had that option.

Looks like tickets and parking are same price as last year.

I plan to renew, but still need to contact the other person in my group.

BTW, one other frustrating point is that there's no simple link from the renewal page for checking the schedule. 

Not a great user experience, but I'm guessing that there are many balls in the air, with the two interim hires recently announced.

Onward.

I doubt the deadline for renewing when it is announced will be anytime soon. You can hold onto your money for a few more months.

I received an email and a text to renew my ticket and parking pass.  I renewed both, I found it mildly annoying that each had to be done as a separate transaction, I don't recall this being required in previous years
