Well, if Arizona can beat them 44-6 maybe there is a ray of hope.

A night game at WSU in November . . . It seems like there's a good chance of cold weather, rain, snow, or all of the above.

I used to have an informal goal of attending a Stanford game in each Pac-12 stadium. I've made it to 10 stadiums. Some of those were truly memorable games, such as the heart-stopping 3OT win at the L.A. Coliseum in 2011 and the comeback win in OT in Eugene in 2018. But Pullman is one of the two places that I never got around to attending a game (the other is Tucson). Every time I started thinking about making the trip to WSU, it seemed like the game was scheduled at night in the second half of the season, when the risk of bad weather is significant. 

Now, with the demise of the Pac-12, I guess I'm probably never going to make it to Pullman. On the other hand, I already have a head start on visiting the ACC stadiums, as I made the trip for the Duke game in 2011. I'm looking forward to attending games in Charlottesville, Boston, and some of the other ACC cities.

I’ve been to all but not Pullman abd won’t be. However love Boston and have never been to Charlotte

I've seen Stanford play in Pullman twice, both wins. 

I also witnessed what had to be the greatest run of Darrin Nelson's Stanford career in Martin Stadium.

Did you go see Stanford play at Boston College in 2002, Bob? I went to that game, then took in Blue Jays and Red Sox at Fenway the next day.

Hope they fix the tunnel before we play there--getting in and out of Logan was tough before, now it's nearly impossible when they are working on it.

Charlotte is a nice city, as is much of the Carolinas--tons of growth in the South. 

Would love to get to the Palouse sometime, hear the scenery is special.

Watched McGuire hit one over the Green Monster in 1988. Went over the netting and into the street. Watched the A's take two later that year during the playoffs. Appreciated the "steroid" chant when Canseco took the field. . . .

Covid foiled my plan to take my kid to a game in every Pac-12 stadium before he graduated high school.

We saw Stanford play in 10 of them, visited Oregon but not on game day, and didn't make it to Utah.

Pullman was nicer than I expected given how much people talk down about it, though it was surprisingly hard to find a place open for dinner after the game.   Our campus tour guide was surprisingly candid about the fact that it wasn't his first choice school. I could see going to school there if I grew up in Washington or Idaho.

My kid's main memory of the trip is doing axe-throwing in Spokane.

Never been to Pullman, but I've known some people (including some relatives) who have attended Wazzu and had very good things to say about it.
Apparently it is very social and a good party school.
Also used to have some neighbors who spent some time living in Spokane. They were very complimentary about it.

My granddad grew up in Potlatch, Idaho about 1/2 hour from Pullman. His dad owned auto dealerships and radio stations in nearby Spokane, but as my great grandfather told it, he "didn't want his son to attend WSU or U of I and turn into a drunk", so he applied on his son's behalf to Stanford...which is where granddad ended up. And as if to validate that assessment, my mother-in-law (from a farm in Eastern Oregon) attended Washington State for a year, but had a little bit too much fun, so her parents withdrew her from WSU and sent her to an all-women college.

I remember Plunkett-to-Vataha was the longest TD pass (96 yds) in our record books for quite a few years.  It was vs Wazzu, but this article says the game was played in...Spokane?  Was there no stadium in Pullman back in 1970?

WSU's wooden stadium burned down in 1970 so all home games in 1970 and 1971 were played in Spokane until the new stadium was built. Since then, WSU did play occasional home games in Seattle and Spokane. Between 2002 and 2014, WSU played a home game in Seattle almost every year. usually an early season non-conference game. 2002 is when the new Seahawks stadium opened and they were able to double the attendance they could get in Pullman. During that time, they upgraded Martin Stadium and discontinued The Seattle Game.

Sure enough, according to the Mercury News, "The forecast for Saturday night calls for a light, steady rain and temperatures in the 40s."

If it is in the 40s, the team should count itself lucky. Avoiding snow or snow mixed with rain is a big plus!

Weather Channel forecast for the game Saturday is rain in early evening then cloudy. Temperature 42 degrees.
