Finished -2 with a birdie on 18. Second wave of players is on the course now but she will likely finish tied for a top 20 place. Not bad for her first professional round I'm sure the nerves were incredible.
Megha Ganne is only one stroke behind her. She is playing as an amateur in her home state with a sponsor's invitation

Exemption is from Liberty National itself
Megha Ganne used to sneak onto Liberty National. Now, she’ll play it for LPGA glory | Politi (msn.com)

Now 2 behind in 2nd place at about 11th hole with 4 birdies so far. I mentioned in Women's Golf thread that there was an excellent article re Rose in last Tuesday's NY Times. Couldn't resend. Think you will enjoy it.

2-stroke lead going into tomorrow. Golf Channel had the coverage today.
RE: WGolf: Rose - Softball Fan - 06-03-2023
Yeah, I watched it on the Golf Channel. It was more like the Rose Zhang show than a golf tournament. She could have been three up but missed a fairly easy putt on the 16th hole for an eagle. Hope her good play continues.

A month from now, she will be playing in the US Open at Pebble Beach. If you are in the area, make plans now to attend. I am sure that she would be glad to have a lot of Stanford fans cheering for her in the gallery.

And Rose wins the tournament! She went 2 over in round 4 and lost her lead on the last hole, but won on the second sudden death playoff hole.

Her second shot on the second play-off hole was as clutch as it gets.

First time in 72 years that a player has won their first tournament in the LPGA.

What happened? Our recording ran out while she was waiting to hit her second shot out of the bunker on 18. She was still up by 1.

If I read it correctly, she picks up a $412,500 paycheck.
Not too shabby.
