Tara and her entire staff need to go. Sorry it is time. Nivar and Betts were the future.

Geez, something is going on more than playing time. I'm a longtime Stanford WVB fan. In the entire history of the women's volleyball program only two players transferred before getting a Stanford degree. One of those was a player 25 years ago who got homesick her freshman year and moved back to her parent's house in Michigan.

Wow. Last one out, turn out the lights and lock the door. Good luck to her. We hardly knew ya. Clearly something went very wrong this past season. Tara seemed cranky. There was no talk about the team loving to play together and wanting not to stop as she has said in recent past seasons. The players are bailing so they were not having a good time. Explains why the team underachieved. The rotation was a mess. The coaches seemed not to have a good idea how to put the player in the best positions to win. Underachieving team with unhappy players. Very un-Stanford-like. I hope Tara does retire. Would be a sad way to go out, with a decimated team and no way to rebuild given how Stanford is about taking transfers.

Or players don’t want to play for the next coach ? Don’t have a clue but it’s a terrible situation

The team is voting with its feet. Obviously not all is well in Maples for either the women or the men. Does Muir have the guts to ask Tara to retire? I am sure he can't and won't fire her. NIL and a chance at the Championship probably are the reasons why we are seeing what we are seeing. If the players really thought they could compete for a National Championship, I don't see so many leaving.
Sports are full of great players and coaches who stuck around too long.

Quote:What a shame about Tara! Maybe she helped her team to be National Champions but that was, what, TWO whole years ago. Maybe she’s the winningest coach in WBB history but her team only won 29 games this year.
Why, we ought to throw her out yesterday. Replace her with [enter name here]. And if the powers that be won’t do it, they are terrible and should be gone too!
That’s what I’m hearing from some. You’d think we have some disinformation specialists here trying to foment unrest.

No its the reality of today's world. You are only as good as this year's team. Clearly there are issues within the team, and why is that? All of us who reach high positions should understand that at some point your use by date will have passed by and it is time to leave gracefully. Those of us who elect to hang around forever, will eventually leave and the they will leave under much poorer circumstances.
