The braintrust had its first miss -- shame on the collective us for picking against our beloved Cardinal. Can we get back in the W column just as the team did last week?

we pull it off 24-23 on a last-second field goal by Josh Karty.

Really BAD injury report going into AZST:
https://247sports.com/college/stanford/Article/Stanford-football-injury-report-Arizona-State-Michael-Wilson-David-Bailey-Walter-Rouse-Levi-Rogers-Barrett-Miller-Levani-Damuni-195746098/
* Star WR Wilson likely out for YEAR.
* Starting freshman edge David Bailey has been ruled doubtful this week after a first-quarter injury in last week’s win.
* And replacement to the starting lineup at offensive tackle Jack Leyrer is also doubtful.
* Four more key players are questionable. Starting left tackle Walter Rouse is questionable to return after missing last week’s game.
Two more O-Linemen, Barrett Miller and Levi Rogers, are also questionable - plus linebacker Levani Damuni.
Who remains to start on the O-Line? Do we have a "depth" chart, or an ambulance backup?
Not good vs Devils.

Actually, I think our situation on the OL is looking somewhat better than vs. ND. Rouse, Miller, and Rogers were all out last week. All three of them (not including Leyrer) are trending up. Shaw's voiceover sounded fairly optimistic on those three, so at least one or two of them will be ready. Against ND, we finished the 4th quarter without Leyrer and put in freshman Fisher Anderson, which seems less likely this week with the return of some or all of the others.

I think we can win this one, but it depends on the D. In my scenario, Stanford goes ahead mid-4th quarter 28-24 and stops ASU's final drive of the game, forcing a turnover on downs, then runs out the clock. Fantasy perhaps; but if the defense is truly improved, then we have a shot.
My concern: ASU put up 45 points on the Dawgs, while we have never scored more than 30, so the D will be under a lot of stress to keep ASU's scoring in check.

I see an "L" looming over the stressed "D" you cite. Devils win a close one. But, hey, CMac's back in town. Maybe he'll make a cameo drop-in on the sideline and remind the team of how things used to be.

Or maybe we can just get CMac to suit up again. He still has a year of eligibility remaining. I think this game is a coin toss. We could surprise to the upside, but I would also not be shocked if we disappoint to the downside.

Totally agree. I wouldn't be surprised either way. Hoping for victory #3 though.

This feels like a game we will win. McKee and the Offense are due for a good game and I think we get one tomorrow. Defense has figured out a rhythm.
I feel like we pull this one out 37-34.

We haven't scored more than 30 points all season.
