Me too. I'll test on my normal account, but it's unlikely there's a difference.

@gailtate You're right. Let me look into it.

The thread has been reopened. I'm looking into why the thread had been closed.

Just a friendly PSA: it's surprisingly easy to accidentally close a thread when you have moderator privileges, because of the way the board software's dropdown menus work. And the worst part? If you look away for a moment, you don't even realize you've done it, because it just reloads the page (without any indication it's been closed).

Our general norm has been for a mod or admin to announce why a thread is being close when it is done - assume otherwise that this was a mistake, and thanks for flagging. :)

ETA: To add to the confusion, mods and admins can post to closed threads, so us testing whether we can post doesn't actually rule out that a thread has in fact been closed. (Sigh!)

Mea culpa.  Evidently, I was the one who locked the thread.  It was unintentional.

Thanks 2006 for the explanation as to why it didn’t appear locked to me, and for explaining how it is easy to lock a thread accidentally.

I do commit to transparency and providing an explanation if I ever lock a thread on purpose. You can assume that if a thread is locked and there is no explanation, it was likely accidental.  If this happens, please do alert the mods.
