Men's Tennis in Super Regionals Friday 4:30 PM PT -

Our men's tennis team (ranked #18) will be playing their 3rd-round NCAA match tomorrow against #3 Baylor in Waco, Texas. Stanford's season record is 19-5, same as the Stanford women's team. Men's home record at Taube this season was 10-0, fyi. Baylor has been one of our toughest opponents over the years; however, Stanford won the last two matches. Tennis ONE will stream the match and Patrick McEnroe will be a guest on the stream. If you don't have time to watch the match (which mostly overlaps the women's match in Norman, Oklahoma), you can catch the stats here:

The men's match against Harvard in the second round was a nail-biter and a really fun match. Hopefully, they will beat another higher-ranked opponent tomorrow.

Here's a YouTube video of the three-set match featuring our #1 (Fery) vs Harvard's #1 last weekend during the 2nd-round NCAA match in Cambridge. Harvard had a noisy, bigger-than-usual crowd because they were offering free burritos to student attendees. Fery struggled in the first set but turned it around in the next two. Enjoy the long rallies and amazing, high-level tennis (note: our team pulled out a 4-3 victory).

Another exciting match! As Spiny_Norman indicated, we won the double's point. We then won only two of the six first singles sets. Our #1 has fallen to Baylor's #1 who is ranked #5, 10 spots higher than Fery. Our #3, Max Basing won 6-1, 6-1 and was the first to finish. Our #2, Axel Geller, our other 1st-set winner, just won a tiebreaker and the match. One to go! Alex Rotsaert, our #4, won his 2nd set and is currently playing the deciding tiebreaker. Our #5 and #6 were each tied in their second sets a minute ago.

Valiant effort and sooooo close! We had three points and only needed to win one of the last three matches. Our #5 and #6 lost close second-set tiebreakers. Our #4 split the first two sets but lost the final tiebreaker.

Men's tennis keeps getting close to advancing to the Elite Eight, but they cannot break through. 4th time in the last 10 years that the team made it to the round of 16 before losing.

It seems to have mostly gone unnoticed, but Stanford's Arthur Fery advanced to the quarterfinals of the men's singles draw today. He defeated 7th seed Stefan Dostanic from USC 6-2, 6-3 in the round of 16. Fery plays top seeded Ben Shelton of Florida tomorrow.
