Plenty of room to improve next season. A top recruiting class is a good start.
Geaux Cardinal!

That sounds right. First half could've been middle or slightly above middle. Second half, especially the last 4 games, felt like dead last.

One place ahead of Nebraska for the top 3-9 team in the country in the Athletic ranking. Think the Huskers got hosed here.

Was a unusual season to rate the season so poorly and end up beating USC and Oregon. Who would have predicted the wins and losses correctly this year?

Sadly, multiple people indeed predicted the numbers correctly. (I was not one of them.) But the individual games, almost certainly not.

They were mediocre at best first half of year. Horrible in second half. Generally over Shaw’s tenure they got better as season progressed. That they got so much worse was distressing. Injuries played a part. But all teams have injuries.
The team looked like they quit on Shaw. That is not good.

In the CardBoard's preseason prediction poll, only 1 voter out of 51 predicted 3 wins. A biased sample, of course. No one predicted fewer than 3 wins, but 14 predicted 7 wins (including yours truly) and 17 predicted 6 wins. Only 7 in total predicted fewer than 6 wins, i.e. bowl ineligibility.

That was me who predicted a three win season.
If I had to vote today for this upcoming season I would predict one win. I'm hoping to hear some good news between now and then that will push my prediction up to two wins.

Only one of our coaches appears to have been poached by another program, so our coaching staff is pretty much intact. Is that good enough news for you?
