Reunion in Oct to be in-person with some limitations -

Quote:Although Reunion will be on campus, you should know that some things will be different from the past. In order to gain approval from the university to host this large gathering we have agreed to three important changes. First, we will be holding the event separate from a football weekend both to decrease population density on campus and to provide more time blocks for programming. Second, we will need to limit the total Reunion attendance for overall campus safety. Third, to align with the university policies that will call for all students, faculty and staff on campus to be vaccinated fall quarter, we will be requiring the same for Reunion attendees.

What are the requirements for us reunión crashers? :)
I have attended the last 5 or so years, excluding 2020, without issue to find friends from my surroundings class years.

With attendance limits and 2 sets of reunion classes invited, I would guess there will be more ticket checking than usual.
Also related is how they will prevent people who are not vaccinated from entering the campus on an ongoing basis since everybody who studies or works on campus is required to be vaccinated.

Vaccination rates are already pretty robust in demographic groups common to Stanford types, so by October this requirement really should not be a big deal.
FWIW - I would be more than OK if Stanford University had a similar requirement for attending football games at Stanford Stadium. Or alternatively those without vaccinations could be assigned to sections in the upper deck of the sunny side. ;)
For a reunion event the logistics could be fairly easy. They could leverage the Stanford Honor Code. Alternatively, they could issue tickets only to alums that submit a scanned image of their vaccination card(s) as part of the registration process.
A reunion weekend with participants from all over the nation (and the world) would be a very efficient way to spread new variants. It would be awful if the sophomores (Class of 2024) had to leave campus mid-Autumn quarter because of an outbreak caused by reunion festivities. That potential scenario alone should drive alums to do everything possible to make sure the Class of 2024 gets to enjoy these next 3 quarters on campus.

Do not screw with the sunny side! Stick them in the end zone.

"Show me your papers!"
Whatever to the strict adherence and extreme rebukes of anyone trying to break or challenge HIPPA laws? People in the medical field, government, and academics used to go particularly nuts over this, and treat anyone like a criminal who tried to question or cross the line of HIPPA. Parents can even get info about their kids after a certain age.

First, that's not how HIPAA works, and that's not what HIPAA does. Second, it sounds like the sources where you learned about HIPAA have given you a completely wrong idea about this law...so I recommend you no longer trust those sources.
Here's a starter:

HIPAA only applies to covered entities. Stanford University (not the medical school) likely doesn't count.
https://www.hipaajournal.com/covered-entities-under-hipaa/
Also, it is HIPAA with two A's and one P.
And, most importantly, HIPAA doesn't prevent anyone from asking about health information such as vaccine status or acting on it; it just prevents a covered entity from disclosing it.

I am sure some sit at the 50 in the upper deck, but over the last decade it has become rather uncommon for people to sit in sections 229, 230, 236 & 237. The areas included in the "Upper East Goal" would be the primary location in my view.
FWIW - I suspect the vast, vast majority of Stanford season ticket holders will be vaccinated, but should there be any anti-vaxxer types out there the AD could offer them seats on the sideline. The upper end zone sections wouldn't work because the family plan types are still there, so that would be a bad mix of anti-vaxxers and kids under 12.
