ESPN's latest preseason top 25:
#17 Oregon... no other Pac 12 team.

It won't be long until we have a Power 4 and Group of 6.

Hey. look at the upside. It means we won't be facing a lot of powerhouses in league play this year.

Kind of like how the Pac12 had just about no one ranked in men's hoops this year.

Well...
Stanford plays Kansas State
Cal plays TCU
UCLA plays LSU
Colorado plays Texas A&M
Oregon plays Ohio State
Washington plays Michigan.
So the Pac-12 will have its chances to prove itself or not against other conferences.

Even more games versus Power 5:
Stanford at Vanderbilt
Stanford vs Notre Dame
Oregon State at Purdue
Cal at TCU
USC at Notre Dame
Worth mentioning that, of the 11 games the Pac-12 will play against Power 5, only three will be played in Pac-12 home stadiums, although Colorado vs Texas A&M is in Denver.
And I think someone else has mentioned that Stanford is the only school to play 12 Power 5 games in 2021?

Correct. Yikes. (And FWIW, this year's schedule was finalized in early 2016, when we were coming off a Rose Bowl title.)
The good news is it appears we are never making this mistake again. There is absolutely no reason to be doing this.

Thanks for confirming, SamuelMcF. And to be clear, I wasn't implying that a 12-FBS-opponents schedule was a good thing.

Papa John: a 12-FBS-opponent schedule is a good thing. FBS vs. FCS are generally non-competitive.
Sam was referring to an all power-5 schedule; I think a couple or more OOC games against G5 teams is not a bad thing.
I would like to see a bit more of a standard set for scheduling: 9 conference games, 2 P5 games, 1 G5 team and no FCS teams, but alas, that will never happen.

Yep, I meant to say Power 5.

How fitting that ESPN would present a preseason ranking with Oregon the lone representative of the Pac12. I cannot think of a single factor any more influential in the deterioration of the Conference, other than dipstick Larry Scott, than the ESPN Industrial Complex. And please don't bother asking me to explain or elaborate on this. If you don't get it by now, I haven't the energy or interest to explain.

+1 for the phrase "ESPN Industrial Complex."

You would have to have done work for them to know how despicable they are. Outside the Lines the exception. We were also treated well at the WS of Poker but that was because we invoiced a company that brought the project to them. E60 the worst.
