I love my team - estephan500 - 10-22-2011

interceptions for touchdown.

tough-ass offensive line.

record-breaking running game.

showing the world more than 60 points against a top 25 team.

It's hard to be humble.

Tough to find too much to complain about in that one.

We took a top 25 team to the woodshed.

School record rushing yardage. Not too shabby.

Re: I love my team - slide - 10-22-2011

it would be nice to get Howell and Toilolo back for the next few games.

the two long runs from Polk are a little disconcerting to me.

SC looked very good at times tonight against ND.

More yards on the ground than UW had total yards.

Some of the younger Huskie fans were woofing pretty hard on their way into the stadium before the game. But the whole UW rooting section got pretty quiet in the second half... Fun game to be there for!

Whose house?

And Wisconsin losing was icing on the cake. (currently watching, wondering if Oklahoma will fall.)

Re: I love my team - Farm93 - 10-22-2011

Come on now!  This team is amazing.  There are always things to improve, but at their best this team can beat anybody.

Let's review.  A ranked team comes to town with one big weakness, pass defense.  Stanford statistically does not exploit that weakness.  Also that ranked team busts two big runs for TDs.  We have all seen that show.  Drive home safe, the road team parties on the field in the 4th quarter. But wait!  Stanford wins 65-21.  Amazing.

It was a ton of fun.  Stanford has now sold out the house in three straight games.  Stanford already has sold out the last three games.  So Stanford will have a six game sell out streak heading into 2012.  Amazing, Amazing, Amazing.

This team is an absolute blessing.

But now the challenges come.  I think most people on this board thought Stanford would go 7-0.  The biggest regular season questions were always about the games in late October & November.

Re: I love my team - fullmetal - 10-23-2011

I didn't think we'd push for that many points, but I'm glad that they did.  Luck's Voldemort beauty stats are 'terrible,' but his win-loss total is right where it needs to be.

Was that the sound of the wheels coming off the Sooner Schooner Landry-Jones-for-Voldemort campaign?  Yes...another one bites the dust!  And surely we jump Clemson with this win...

The real question is whether our defense can tighten up against ground games.  Polk is no Lamichael James...or Kenjon Barner or De'Anthony Thomas or Darren Thomas.  Polk left would-be tacklers on their knees grasping for air :(

But the offense (and Michael Thomas and special teams) carried the day with scoring drives.  Great game.
