Trump signs budget - Goose - 12-27-2020
Anyone who saw that coming please raise your hand. I figured he might veto it and let congress override, if we were lucky. Delaying signing it and causing lots of people lots of angst and then signing it anyway makes absolutely no sense IMHO. Well, I guess that is why it should have been expected.

I did. And you can look it up on the other thread. Typical Trump theatre. I thought he might squeeze out a little more relief. But I knew he’d sign if he couldn’t get it. As I said, he wants his name on the check.

As I said, he wants his name on the check.I think Trump might have had some idiot idea that a mass of the People would come storming the Congress, demanding Trump's election so thatthey can lay hands on the additional relief. something like the second act of Julius Caesar after the Mark Anthony speech. Didn't happen. Wasn't ever gonna happen.
Trump's behavior since the election has been beyond any conceivable excuse.

Ya, I really don't understand what the POTUS gains from signing the bill and why he did. And I really don't understand how he signs it while asserting Congress should make the payments larger, when "his" party is vehemently against this. Does he really want to make them look bad?
Of course, since the bill was signed after unemployment benefits expired, everyone has to re-apply for them again, which is no picnic.
