Several high profile leaders have had COVID-19 (thinking of Boris Johnson and Donald Trump), but the Prime Minister of Eswatini (formerly known as Swaziland) tested positive for COVID-19 on November 16 and died in a South African hospital.  Obviously, not certain if the two are connected, but seems like a reasonable conclusion given the timing.  If so, I think he would be the first head of government to die from COVID-19.  He was 52.

Yes, it was Covid. 4 week course. Eswatini has been hit harder than some other African countries, but certainly not as badly as here.
