Fauci states what is pretty obvious to everyone, but still...

Things that are obvious to thinking people that absorb numbers and line charts, unfortunately, are not obvious to everyone.  Many would rather "believe" than "think".  It's less work and it feels better.  Especially when the act of thinking might lead to negative or unpleasant sensations.
