I'm really sad to see Tempie go, but I do have to think that Anderson could give us a boost with sneaking some recruits away from those darn East Coast schools given her experience at Virginia Tech. It'll be interesting to see how this next year goes for the team.

Sorry to see Tempie go. Always enjoyed her Chalk Talks the most. That said, looks like we have two excellent coaches coming in.

Very, very sorry to see Tempie go. She was by far the best at public relations on the staff. That said, I know nothing really about how she was as a coach--whether instructing, scouting, recruiting, etc. I presume she was very good since she seems so bright and charismatic. I would want to learn from her.
With Katy we are getting a coach older that Kate, no? Why has she bounced around so much as coach? Why did she leave Boston as head coach? Still, whatever may be the answers, it will be fun to have someone with so much history oozing from her.
Britney is going to be a LOT younger than all the other coaches. I hope she connects well with our players. I worry about a staff that is too distant in age from the players--maybe because I feel that myself as an aging professor. Being closer in age to students has some advantages. And of course the number one directive for all of Tara's assistant coaches--they have to be able to put together a really good scout! I hope she can.

If you saw the great improvement in post play from McCall and Smith then you have an idea how good a coach she was. We shall miss her. And agree really miss her at chalk talks

So upset by this news. Tempie has such a great spirit and great insights.

When I think of Tempie's tenure as a Stanford women’s basketball coach, I am limited. I observed her external qualities firsthand — her easy-going nature, her ability to break down the strategy of the game, and her focus during critical moments of the game. Yet, to a larger extent, I have to intuit her internal effectiveness based on who has been recruited, how players performed at game time, and how the team stayed on task game after game.
We could all see that Tempie's temperament was consistently upbeat, that her enthusiasm was infective, and that she had a great sense of humor — all requisites for maintaining team moral. And she earned our praise — that spontaneous and resounding applause we gave her at the last chalk-talk seem to catch us all by surprise. I’m glad that we could give her that accolade, since we will not have a chance to show her our appreciation at a more formal celebration.
She will be sorely missed.

Two excellent stories on both new coaches on Rivals.
I’ll throw in here that Australia currently has a ban on leaving the country with a few exceptions none of which are to study abroad

I guess that means our new Australian W Soccer player is not coming until Sept. 17 and probably not at all this year (classes start 9/14 and the travel ban will likely be extended anyway)..

And then there's Australia's Agnes Emma Nnopu, incoming freshman for women's basketball.

Just listened to an interview with Saylor and it’s pretty doubtful she can come so the same would be true for Agnes.
