The risks of transmission in public transport may not be as high as was previously believed (despite the fact that people are brought in close contact and its a closed system). However, studies in Paris and Austria have failed to find any clusters that can be traced to public transport. Of course, absence of evidence is not evidence of absence, so I think its prudent to be safe and avoid public transport when possible and wear a mask when you can't avoid it.
