Football:
Prior to the Pac 10 and ASU and Arizona or the Pac 8 each of the schools had an overall top pick in the NFL draft
Name the QBs who were number 1 overall from each school and the one overall number from the one school with out a QB number 1

Leaf was the #2 draft pick in 1998 (to the Chargers). Some guy named Manning was #1 that year.
Bledsoe is the WSU #1 pick (1993 to the Patriots).

It was already the Pac-10 when I enrolled (1993). I think UofA and ASU were added in the 70's.

I'd guess Bob Garrett or Terry Baker based on when they played, given I know when Stanford has been in the final four that leaves Baker as my guess

Garrett led the nation with 17 TD passes in 1953. Defensively he led the USA in picks with 9. I had done some research and I believe the feat was unique but Terry or Mick might confirm. Sammy Baugh?

Not me, though Baugh led the NFL in interceptions in 1943 with 11 (can't believe there was football in WWII). Baugh was a great punter and passer. TCU All-American in 1935 and 1936. And his nickname, "Slingin'" Sammy Baugh was given to him by a sportswriter, but for his play as a third baseman on the TCU baseball team.

i believe #17 led country in p.a.t. efficiency in 1953, too. national leader in 3 different position categories: passing, defensive interceptions & p.a.t efficiency.

Frank Gifford ran, passed and caught for SC. He played DB and returned kicks. I believe he was a place kicker too. Did he lead the country in anything?

Pretty good golfer and nice guy. I caddied for him when I was a kid. He played with Kyle Rote, Charley Conerly and a NY restaurateur, Mike Manuche, who named his place after himself. :)
