This stupid idea is spreading faster than the virus -

The idea is this: quarantine everyone for two weeks. Then, to save the economy, let the young and healthy go back to work while taking precautions like washing hands and sending sick people home. Donald Trump, Lloyd Blankfein, and Tom Friedman are endorsing this idea now.
This is the stupidest thing I have ever heard. There is no chance that the virus will disappear, even with 2 weeks of Wuhan-style 100% quarantine. So, as soon as the young are allowed "out" again, the virus will spread exponentially because of asymptomatic spread and the fact that we cannot identify the infected due to near zero testing capacity. Even though the death rates for younger people are low, they are not zero, and many people will get seriously ill. Hospitals will still likely be overwhelmed. The old and infirm will still need to go out and get food, medicine, etc.
Expect to hear more of this bullshit in the next few weeks as the economy craters. The people making this argument would trade thousands (maybe millions in the worst-case scenarios) of lives for a few points of stock market returns. Shame on them.

I never thought we'd be better off with Bernie Lomax as POTUS, but here we are.

Oh, I thought this thread was going to be about holding up the bill so congress can forgive student loans, increase union bargain power, increase environmental regulations on airlines and create more solar and wind tax credits. From Majority Whip James Clyburn: this bill is “a tremendous opportunity to restructure things to fit our vision.”
